Signed by the author to the limitation page.

A presentation copy from the author to John C. Eckel, with Eckel's bookplate to the front paste down. Eckel was a noted bibliographer, known for his 'The First Editions of the Writings of Charles Dickens and Their Values'.

In the original glassine. 

'The Making of an Immortal' is a comical play in one act set in Elizabethan England, a witty take on the authorship question.

Characters include Francis Bacon, Shakespeare, and Queen Elizabeth.

With decorations by Claire Bruce.

Condition

In the original publisher's paper covered boards, in the original glassine. Externally, smart. Spine label is lifting and is a little chipped. Bookplate to the front paste down. Publisher's inscription to the recto of the front endpaper. Glassine is worn and chipped, with heavy loss to the spine and extremities. Wraps are a little age-toned. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
