1927 The Art and Sport of Alpine Photography
What Our Customers Say...
Description
First Edition, Illustrated, Proof Copy, Publishers' Original Binding
The first edition of this work, with a loosely inserted slip reading 'with the publisher's compliments, for the favour of review'.
Illustrated with one-hundred and fifty-five photographs from the author, on double sided plates. Collated, complete.
Gardner's work on alpine photography was prompted by his belief that the hobby of photography added to the appreciation scenery and holidays, even suggesting that photographs could be a 'pleasant if less exciting adventure' than actual mountaineering.
Condition
In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, excellent. Rear hinge strained, but firmly held. Internally, binding lightly strained throughout, but holding firm. Pages bright, with scattered instances of light spotting and handling marks.
