The volume was printed at the Shakespeare Head Press in Stratford-upon-Avon.
Shakespeare's The Tragedie of King Lear is based on the mythological Leir of Britain and the play follows the King as he divides his power and land between two of his daughters in preparation for old age.
Illustrated by Paul Nash with six pages of black and white illustrations and five colour plates with lose tissue guards.
Collated, complete.
Paul Nash was a British surrealist painter and war artist.

Condition
In the publisher's original quarter cloth with paper covered boards. Externally, very smart with just some minor marks to the boards and bumping to the bottom extremity. Internally, firmly bound with bright and clean pages. In a glassine dust wrapper which is very smart with a small tear to the head of the spine.
