This is a mail-order catalogue from the Hardy Bros. Limited, known as the 'Angler's Guide'. This catalogue made the Hardy Brothers the best-known fishing tackle manufacturer in the world, leading 'tens of thousands of fishermen... spending their winter evening pouring through its pages'.
Contents are broken down into the various methods of angling, and includes 'Fly Fishing', 'Spinning and Prawning', 'Dry Fly', 'Wormin' and 'Sundries' Each section also includes a helpful job instructing the reader on how to fish.
With a 'Details for Register' leaflet loosely inserted into the text, which gave the consumer an opportunity to open an account with the business.
With two pages of publisher's adverts to rear of text.
Collated, complete.
Condition
In the publisher's original pictorial wraps, with a cloth spine. Externally, very smart. Minimal wear to the extremities and the spine. Light fading with a few marks. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout, with light age-toning to margins. Some discolouration to the tabs along fore edge of spine.
