Written by Gertrude Jekyll. Jekyll was a horticulturist, author, and garden designer who designed over four-hundred gardens around the world. She was a prolific journalist for 'Country Life' and 'The Garden', contributing many articles for garden enthusiasts.
Also written by Christopher Hussey. Hussey was an authority of British domestic architecture, known mostly for his extensive articles from the 1920s onwards for the 'Country Life' magazine.
Bookplate of Willoughby Norman to the front paste down.
Condition
In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. Light bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Spine is faded. Front hinge is starting but firm. Bookplate to the front paste down. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean, with a few scattered spots and handling marks, heavier to the first and last few pages.
