Described as ‘a manual for the medical and legal professions’, Stopes explains in detail birth control methods and the benefits that their widespread uses could have on the state.

Stopes was a campaigner for eugenics and women's rights, and founded the first birth control clinic in Britain.

This was one of the first detailed guides on contraception in the English language, aiming to provide scientifically accurate and accessible information on family planning. Her work played a significant role in advancing reproductive rights for women.

In the publisher’s original cloth binding, with unclipped dust wrapper. Light shelf wear to back strip tail, otherwise externally excellent. Bookseller’s stamp to front free endpaper. A touch of sunning to dust wrapper back strip, with closed tears and chipping to back strip head, small loss to head of rear wrap, and light edgewear to wrap heads. Internally, firmly bound.
