A very scarce copy of this account of the port city of Calais during the First World War, in the original French. Written by Albert Chatelle and G. Tison, with a preface by M. Aristide Briand. One of a number of copies printed only for subscribers, the present number one-thousand and ninety-eight.
Containing numerous black and white illustrations in text as well as four coloured plates tipped in on thicker paper and five maps, some folding. Collated, bound without five coloured plates and one map.
Condition
In the original publisher's wraps. Externally generally sound with shelf wear, loss to head and tail of spine, chipped to extremities, small sticker to front wrap. Internally, binding generally firm. Pages bright and clean.
