What Our Customers Say...

Description

Author's Presentation Copy, First Edition, Publishers' Original Binding, Signed, Very Scarce

The very scarce first edition, first printing.

A signed presentation copy, with the inscription 'to David Kurscheula [sic] con moisseur, Beth Brown', to the half title.

This very scarce novel details the sensational aspects of carnival life, vividly depicting the sleazy environment.

In 1930, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer announced plans to bring the novel to the silver screen, aiming to capture the circus life as portrayed in Brown's work. The adaptation did not ultimately come to fruition, and no film version was produced.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Back strip age toned, otherwise externally smart. Front hinge a touch strained, but firmly held. Pages clean and bright. Final gathering unopened to head.
