This volume is a scarce and richly illustrated survey of Nottinghamshire’s medieval dovecotes, specifically those built solely for pigeons, that were still standing in Nottinghamshire and its border areas at the time. The dovecotes include those at Wollaton, Brant Broughton, Syerston Hall, and Thoroton Hall.
Condition
In the publisher's original green cloth binding. Externally, smart. Slight rubbing and bumping to extremities. Slight fading to spine and extremities. Slight cockling to rear board. One or two spots of damp staining to boards. Offsetting to endpapers with the odd spot. Small "H" stamp to front free endpaper. Internally, generally firmly bound. Hinges slightly strained, but firm. Pages generally bright and clean, with the odd spot to fore edge and scattered spotting to the first and last few leaves.
