Description

Illustrated, Very Scarce

A delightful collection of twenty-five post cards produced by the Brothers Parikas, Estonian photographers and publishers who were active throughout the twentieth century.

The postcards present her depict the Estonian capital between 1927 and 1931, and include photographs of the Old Town Hall, the castle, the town moat, St Nicholas's church, St Olaf's Church, the town hall and the market place, alongside many views of streets and architecture.

Johannes Parikas and Johannes Parikas stablished the photo studio and publishing house in Tallinn in 1910, and stayed in operation until the early 1970s.

Loosely inserted in an unrelated envelope produced by the British Museum to house 15 postcards of miniatures from the Psalter of King Henry VI.

With neat pencil inscriptions labelling each post card to their reverses.

Condition

Twenty-five postcards loosely inserted in an unrelated envelope. Former owner's inscription to front of envelope. Postcards a touch age toned, otherwise clean and bright. Neat pencil notations to reverse of envelopes.
