Illustrated with 192 monochrome photographic plates by the Fratelli Alinari photographic firm.
Fratelli Alinari is one of the world's oldest photographic firms, with the original founder being joined by his brothers to establish 'Fratelli Alinari Fotografi Editori', which focussed on photographing Italian monuments, sculptures, paintings and architecture. Collated complete.
This work was put together and written by Arduino Colasanti, an Italian Renaissance scholar and the general director of the Department of Antiquity and Fine Arts in Rome.

Condition
In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, generally smart. Fading to extremities. Rubbing to spine label resulting in slight lifting and loss. The odd small handling mark to boards. Very slight rubbing and bumping to extremities. Ink stamp from F. W. Clifford, Architectural Decorator to front free endpaper and title page. The odd minor handling mark and spot to endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean with slight age tonging to first few leaves. Slight offsetting on page XXII from facing plate.
