This edition was edited with a glossary by William James Craig, an eminent Shakespeare scholar who produced the first 'Oxford Shakespeare' in 1891.

Illustrated with a portrait frontispiece of Shakespeare. 

Rebound in a sumptuous embroidered cloth binding. 

Ink inscription to the half-title, 'With delightful memories of the South American trip and sincerest congratulations, affectionately, Mira H. Pitman, September 1927'. Almira Hollander Pitman was an American suffragist who was important in working for women's suffrage in Hawaii.

Condition

Rebound in a gilt embroidered cloth binding. Externally, smart. A small patch of fraying to the rear joint. Only a few light marks to the boards. Front hinge is strained. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Ink inscription and small label to the half-title.
