First UK edition. Illustrated with a frontispiece, eighty images across sixty-two plates, and numerous in-text figures. Collated complete. Farson takes us to Eastern Europe, sailing via canals and rivers in a small yawl in 1925. Providing a history of the region, presented in such a way as to bring understanding to the outbreak of the Second World War, with examples in many of the areas he visits of the precursors to fascism beginning to show. Written by James Scott Negley Farson, an American author and adventurer.

Condition

In the original full cloth binding. Externally, smart with minor wear to the extremities and fading to the spine. Internally, firmly bound with the odd plate loosening slightly. Pages are very bright with light scattered spotting and age toning to the endpapers.
