The first edition of this work. An introduction to British history for young people by Hilaire Belloc, Franco-English author and historian. 

Featuring a wood engraving frontispiece and woodcut to front board by Hester Sainsbury.

Condition

In the original publisher's binding over paper covered boards, titles on paper label to front board. Externally very smart with minor shelf wear, light bumping to head and tail of spine, back strip lightly darkened. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean.
