A book on housecraft, not intended to be an exhaustive treatise on the subject, but rather as a guide to those who are seeing to learn more about the satisfactory running of a house, with the minimal time and labour. With chapters on lighting and heating, furniture and fittings, cleaning, costing, clothing, nursing, and more. Written by Ruth Binnie, a British educator at Battersea Training College of Domestic Science, and Julia E. Boxall, a Gilchrist scholar with a Household and Social Science Diploma from London University.

Condition

In the original full cloth binding. Externally, smart with light rubbing and minor bumping to the extremities. Minor fading to the spine with the odd small mark to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean. Minor age toning to the endpapers with the previous owner's bookplate to the front endpaper.
