Illustrated with a frontispiece and eight images across seven plates. Collated complete. With coverage of how to plan a herb garden, sundry herbs, pottages, herb puddings, drinks and wines, on picking and drying herbs and their scents. Garden-Craft in the Bible and Other Essays, 1927. First edition. Illustrated with a frontispiece and twenty-five images across twenty-three plates. Collated complete. Containing sixteen essays, which include 'Old Bee Books', 'Garden Music', 'The Charm of the Sundial', 'The Elizabethan Garden', 'Gardens of the Pharoahs', and 'Oxford Gardens'. With the publisher's advertisements to the rear.

Condition

In the original quarter cloth binding. Externally, smart with light rubbing and minor bumping to the extremities. Light fading to the spines with sunning to the spine labels and the odd small mark to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd spot. Light spotting to the first and last few pages. The plate facing page four of A Garden of Herbs is detached but present. Previous owner's bookplate to the front endpaper of Garden-Craft in the Bible.
