German. This copy is hand-numbered as number ninety. Illustrated with six tipped-in facsimile plates and seven in-text facsimiles of prints. A study of Wilhelm Gerstung, an Offenbach-based publishing house and printing house at the beginning of the twentieth century, with high design and technical standards. The publishing house was founded in 1849 by Wilhelm Gerstung and later passed to Rudolf Gerstung, who began collaborating with Rudolf Koch. With specific reference to The Rudolfinische Drucke (Rudolfian Prints) which were produced in the printing house from 1911 to 1924 collaboratively by the pair. The most famous work being "Geharnischte Sonnets" (Armored Sonnets), of which three hundred numbered copies were produced in 1913.
Condition
In the original card wraps. Externally, sound with light wear and minor sunning to the extremities. Splits along the spine resulting in the odd small closed tear. Hinges tender. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout.
