A very scarce bound certificate of thanks presented from the London Court of Arbitration to Mr. H. L. Symonds on the 6th October 1925.

The certificate is colourfully decorative, and is accompanied by another colourful sheet which is signed by twenty-two members of the LCIA, including Francis Agar, Oscar Berry, W. W. Green, and Robert A. Patterson. The certificate is signed by the chairman, deputy chairman, and registrar, the chairman being Joseph James Redding.

The certificate reads: "The London Court of Arbitration. A the Annual Meeting of this Court held on the 11th day of June 1925 it was unanimously Resolved That the cordial thanks of the Members of the London Court of Arbitration be accorded to Mr. H. L. Symonds, for the valuable services rendered by him as Deputy Chairman from June 1921 to June 1923 & as Chairman of the Court from June 1823 to June 1925. His high standard of conduct in the Chair and his invariable courtesy greatly assisted in the work of the Court & have endeared him to all its Members".

The London Court of International Arbitration is the oldest arbitral body in the world dealing with international disputes, founded in 1892.

One issue of 'City Press' for October 10th 1925 is loosely inserted, in which are references to the LCIA.

Condition

In the original cloth binding. Externally, smart, with light marks to the cloth. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Spine is faded. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright with spots.
