First edition. Signed and inscribed by W. H. Yeandle in presentation to "Monty", dated July 1926. A scarce work. Illustrated with a frontispiece and numerous in-text images. A local history of the churches in Mortlake and East Sheen, suburban districts of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames on the south bank of the River Thames between Kew and Barnes. With chapters on the manors, parish churches, monuments and tombs of famous men, the church schools, and other points of interest. Written by Reverend William Henry Yeandle, an English clergyman and local historian, in collaboration with William Walter Watts, an English historian and Keeper of the Department of Metal Work at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
Condition
In the original full cloth binding. Externally, smart with light wear to the extremities. The odd small mark to the cloth. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd small spot and minor sunning to the endpapers. A small mark to the title page.
