A varied and practical cookery book comprising 750 recipes, with many more than usual using year-round obtainable ingredients. The recipes are arranged under their principal ingredients (e.g. sauces, vegetables, fish, eggs, fruit etc.) as well as chapters given up to recipes for cold Sunday Supper Dishes, flower recipes, children's cookery, and an "Arabian Nights" chapter with dishes mentioned in the stories.
A smart example of this classic English cookbook from renowned herbalist Hilda Leyel and her assistant Olga Hartley, also a detective fiction novelist and essayist.
Condition
In the original cloth binding. Externally, with handling marks to the cloth and a couple spots to the spine. Minor rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with occasional spots, largely concentrated to the first and last few leaves.
