A yearly miscellany, this being Number 40, for the year 1925.
In the original unclipped dust wrapper.
This chapbook was founded by Harold Monro in 1919, and published until 1925. Monro was a poet and proprietor of the Poetry Bookshop in London. He edited this volume, and contributed the poems 'Romantic Fool', 'Great Distance', and 'Dream Exhibition of a Final World'.
This volume also includes: 'Obscurity' by Leonard Woolf, 'Situations Required' by Osbert Sitwell, 'To an Old Lady, Dead' and 'Stonehenge' by Siegfried Sassoon, 'Ancestors' by Robert Graves, 'Ballet in Criticism' by Aldous Huxley, 'Artemis Married' and 'The Faithful' by Stella Gibbons, and more.
Illustrated with a frontispiece, and illustrations throughout, by Paul Nash, William Roberts, David Jones, Ethelbert White, and other illustrators.
Eight pages of adverts to the rear.
Condition
In the original publisher's paper covered boards, in the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, lacking the backstrip. Light age-toning and spots to the boards. Minor bumping to the extremities. Dust wrapper is worn, wraps are detached from one another, the front flyleaf is detached but present. Lacking the backstrip. Chips to the dust wrapper, with heavier loss to the rear wrap. Wraps are age-toned with some spots, and light rubbing. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned and clean.
