New edition. Scarce work. Illustrated throughout with a colour frontispiece and numerous full-page images. First published in England in 1902, this collection of stories are full of whimsical charm. Robinson presents one of literature’s most guileless and sincere characters, with his comically floppy hat and striped baggy stockings, gentle, serious Uncle Lubin is left in charge of his beloved nephew Peter. Written and illustrated by William Heath Robinson, an English cartoonist, illustrator and artist who drew whimsically elaborate machines to achieve simple objectives.

Condition

In the original full cloth binding. Externally, sound with rubbing and light bumping to the extremities. Fading to the spine and board edges with light marks to the boards. Small splits in the cloth to the head and tail of the spine with a 2" split to the front joint. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with light scattered spotting. Age toning to the endpapers.
