First Edition, Publishers' Original Binding, With Dustwrapper
The first edition. In the publisher's original cloth binding with dust wrapper. Two popular short stories by the renowned English author, D. H. Lawrence, best known for his novels, 'Sons and Lovers', 'The Rainbow' and 'Lady Chatterley's Lover'. 'St Mawr' tells the story of Lou Witt, who abandons her marriage in post-First World War England and heads to New Mexico. Lawrence wrote most of the story at, what is now known as, the 'D. H. Lawrence Ranch', in the summer of 1924. With the additional novelette, 'The Princess'.
Condition
In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, very smart with minor shelf wear. The original unclipped dust wrapper is in good condition. Shelf wear to the edges and chipping to the spine. Fading and marks to the spine and handling marks to the panels. Age-toning to the edges and inside. Internally, firmly bound. Pages very bright and clean with just the odd spot. Fore-edge is worn with spotting.
