Number 96 of the limited 475 copies by the Centaur Press sent to England for sale in 1925.

This text contains seven essays by Lawrence, including the full text of his essay 'The Crown' which was originally written in 1915.

Other essays include 'The Novel', 'Him With His Tail in His Mouth', 'Blessed Are The Powerful', 'Love Was Once A Little Boy', 'Reflections on The Death of A Porcupine' and 'Aristocracy'.

Lawrence termed these his 'philosophical essays'.

Condition

In the publisher's original quarter cloth binding, with marbled paper covered boards. Back strip a touch age toned, with boards exceptionally bright. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright.
