Connected by name to his earlier and more famous epic poem Paradise Lost, this epic poem in blank verse progresses through Christian history dealing primarily with the temptation of Christ as recounted in the Gospel of Luke. Written by John Milton, an English poet, polemicist, and civil servant best known for his epic poem Paradise Lost. Edited by L. C. Martin, an English scholar and editor.

Condition

In the original green cloth binding. Externally, very smart with minor rubbing to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with the odd small spot to the endpapers. Contemporary ink inscription to the front endpaper.
