This volume is the revised and retitled edition of the original 1913 publication, updated and republished in 1925 to include Sir Edwin Lutyens’s later works. It features a wide range of projects, from celebrated gardens such as Hestercombe, Heathcote (Ilkley), Lambay (Ireland), Temple Dinsley, Great Dixter, and Folly Farm, to designs for public monuments, town buildings, and furniture.

Profusely illustrated with over 300 photographs, architectural drawings, and garden views, the volume includes a striking black-and-white photographic frontispiece of Heathcote and offers a comprehensive visual record of Lutyens’s country house architecture and landscaping.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Fading and discolouration to boards affected by the dust wrapper. Slight rubbing and bumping to extremities. Fading to head of spine. Slight creasing to spine. The odd slight handling mark and spot to boards. Previous owner's ink inscription to front free endpaper from May, 1936. White tape to front free endpaper, where newspaper cutting is partially affixed. The odd scattered spot to endpapers. Dust wrapper, generally smart. Rubbing and bumping to extremities resulting in the odd chip and loss to perimeters and extremities. Slight age toning, with scattered spotting. Tape repair to lower edge. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean.
