Illustrated with a frontispiece, a folding map to the rear, and forty-two photographic images on plates. Collated, complete.

English travel writer, novelist and explorer Rosita Forbes details her travels from the Red Sea coast through desert and highland to the Blue Nile, detailing the dramatic landscapes, political intrigues, and diverse cultures she encountered.

With the bookplate of Francis E. B. Witts to the front pastedown. He was a Church of England clergyman and amateur bell-ringer.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Back strip age toned, with shelf wear to back strip tail. Front hinge strained but firmly held. Bookplate to front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright, with spotting and instances of foxing throughout.
