The first edition of this work, compiled by Ludwig Mecking. In the original German. A charming regional study of the Arctic and Antarctic. Illustrated with six full page plates of illustrations in black and white printed to the recto and verso, of which one is double paged, figures in text, two maps in colour, and one coloured plate. Collated, complete.

Condition

In the original publisher's full cloth biding. Externally very smart with only minor shelf wear and a minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities. Ex-library with label to the spine, and library stamps throughout to the front pastedown, title page, leaves of plates. With evidence of the removal of a bookplate to the front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean.Illustrated with six full page plates of illustrations in black and white printed to the recto and verso, of which one is double paged, figures in text, two maps in colour, and one coloured plate. Collated, complete.
