What Our Customers Say...

Description

First Edition, Publishers' Original Binding

The first edition, first impression of Wells's novel.

Wells's novel is set in early 1920s London, and follows the spiritual and easily influenced Mr Preemby, and his daughter, Christina Alberta.

In the novel, Wells lambasts the state of mental health legislation and lunatic asylums, and discusses the class system and feminism. Due to its didacticism, the novel was not as successful or popular as the author's science fiction works.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, excellent. Bumping to back strip head and tail. Front free endpaper adhered to front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright.
