Two very scarce works, with a wealth of original photographs included.

The 'Advance Club Souvenir' celebrating these two summer trips of the Nottingham Education Committee.

The first volume is dedicated to a 1925 trip to Paris. The volume provides a typed itinerary of the trip, with photographs pasted to the versos of leaves.

With thirty-nine photographs, depicting individuals on the trip, the Notre Dame Cathedral, and the Eiffel Tower, among many other Parisian sites.

The second volume details the itinerary of a 1926 trip to Lucerne, Switzerland.

Illustrated with eighteen photographs of the rural mountains, fields, sheep, and Swiss chalets.

With the library stamps of the City of Nottingham Public Libraries throughout, and their lending lead to the verso of each front wrap.

Loosely inserted in a folder with a handwritten description to the front wrap.

Providing fascinating insight into these popular European destinations in the 1920s.

Condition

In the publisher's original paper wraps. Houses in a folder with handwritten front wrap. Fading to folder perimeters, with library label to tail of front wrap. Front wraps detached but present. Significant spotting to wraps. Ink inscription to 'Paris' front wrap. Library stamps to front and rear wraps, with lending leaves to versos of front wraps. Internally, bindings tender throughout. Pages age toned, with spotting and handling marks throughout. Photographic images clean and bright, but occasionally tenderly held.
