Mary, Countess of Lovelace (1864-1941), born Mary Caroline Stuart-Wortley, was a prominent figure in social reform and rural education, and the daughter-in-law of Ada Lovelace, the famed mathematician.

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, very smart. Slight rubbing and bumping to extremities. Very slight rubbing to boards. Previous bookseller's discreet sticker to front paste down. Previous owner's small inscription to front free endpaper. very slight offsetting to endpapers. Dust wrapper, smart. Unclipped. Age toned with slight soiling, the odd spot, and the odd handling mark. Rubbing and bumping to extremities resulting in slight loss to extremities. The odd closed tear to extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean with the odd spot.
