A comprehensive account of British military history. The 5th Dragoon Guards was a British army cavalry regiment, officially raised in January 1686 as Shrewsbury's Regiment of Horse. Its history and traditions continue today in the Royal Dragoon Guards, an armoured cavalry unit of the British Army.

In publisher's original cloth boards with a rebacked cloth spine. Externally, generally smart. Bumping to extremities, most significant to the head and tail of spine and corners of boards. Fading to edge of boards. Slight rubbing to boards with the odd mark. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally clean and bright with light age toning and the odd spot. Lacking five plates.
