Description

First Edition, Leather Binding, Original Binding, Publishers' Original Binding

First English edition, an authorised translation. First published in 1919 and later updated to reflect changes in the French constitution, this volume provides a complete overview of the French governmental institutions of the time. Exploring the idea that French institutions of today, considered as a whole, form a composite building on which every new regime for the last hundred years has left a mark. Written by Joseph Barthelemy, a French jurist, politician and journalist. Initially a critic of Nazi Germany, he would go on to serve as a minister in the collaborationist Vichy regime. Translated by J. Bayard Morris, a British author and translator.
