Reginald Edward Enthoven's study on Bombay folklore, covering topics such as the worship of natural objects, the worship of ancestors and saints, dreams and omens, women's rites and disease deities. Enthoven was an administrator in the Indian Civil Service of the British Raj, and is best known for his works on India, having lived in Bombay for many years.

Condition
In the publisher's original cloth. Externally very smart with slight fading to the spine, and light edgewear, with only a very minimal closed tear to the head of the front joint. Bookseller's label to the front pastedown with author's signature to the front free endpaper. Pages generally bright with only the odd spot to the front and rear and age toning to the front blanks. 'Burton Hill' library stamp to the title page.
