The debut novel of British poet, television and radio producer, Lancelot de Giberne Sieveking, who worked with the BBC between 1925 and 1956, producing numerous radio plays, including those by H. G. Wells and Jules Verne.

This intriguing, fantastical novel surrounds the improper usage of a thought-machine, used by some to place telepathic commands in the minds of others.

Illustrated with charming vignettes and a colour frontispiece by the author's godfather, the renowned G. K. Chesterton.

With two pictorial bookplates from Peter John Freeman.

Condition

Bound in the publisher's original cloth. Lacking the dust wrapper. Externally, excellent, with light shelf wear and the occasional mark to cloth. Bookplates to the front paste down and front endpaper. One or two spots to the end pages and fore edge. Internally, firmly bound. Author's signature to the half title, with a little age toning. Pages are otherwise bright and clean.
