Includes photographic frontispiece with 40 plates throughout. Inscribed and signed by the author on title page. Beautifully colour illustrated endpapers. Collated, complete.

A scarce first edition written by Starr, depicting his travels to Mt. Fuji. The volume includes details of the geology, religious significance and cultural representations of the mountain as well as the author's endeavour to the top; providing a comprehensive account of Mt. Fuji.

Condition

In publisher's original cloth. Externally, very smart. Slight bumping to extremities, slightly more significant to the head and tail of the spine, causing minor splitting to cloth. Slight sunning to spine, with the occasional mark on the boards. Illustrated endpapers in excellent condition. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean. Author's inscription on title page.
