El Raisuni: The Sultan of the Mountains is a biography of tribal leader Mulai Ahmed el Raisuni, a Sharif of the Riffian Berber tribe who became a notorious outlaw, and then a powerful figure. He was known for his Robin Hood-style exploits and defiance of European powers at the turn of the 20th century.


Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding with gilt text to the spine. Externally, very smart with light shelf wear and slight bumping to spine head and tail. The odd mark to front board. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright with marginal age toning and prior owner's bookplate to front paste down.
