Joseph Conrad was a Polish-British novelist, whose works include the novels 'Lord Jim', 'Nostromo' and 'Heart of Darkness'.

During his lifetime, Conrad was noted for the richness of his prose and his depictions of dangerous life at sea and in exotic places. A writer of complex skill, he has been increasingly regarded as one of the greatest English novelists.

Conrad's dark and compelling novella 'Heart of Darkness' is his best known work, narrated by seaman and wanderer Marlow, who recounts his physical and psychological journey in search of the infamous ivory trader Kurtz.
