Second edition, present day impression series. Fourth section issue covering South America, covering Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Chile, Peru, Bolivia, and Cuba. Very scarce work. Illustrated with seven tipped-in colour plates and numerous in-text images and figures, including maps. A detailed and comprehensive encyclopedia of commerce across South America, exploring the history and geography of each country alongside administration and communications, finance and banking, transport, agriculture, industries, viticulture, and more. The work is divided into sections based on each country and also provides commentary on important cities.
Condition
In the original full crushed morocco binding. Externally, smart with light rubbing to the extremities and the odd mark to the boards. A small puncture mark to the front board. Rear hinge just starting but firm to the index section. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd small handling mark. First page of contents has been torn out with minor residue remaining.
