A lovely work on the waders, or shorebirds, of Britain. There are about 210 different species of waders, this volume detailing the natural history and habits of those native to Britain.

This work discusses the little stint, black-winged stilt, bar-tailed godwit, ringed plover, oyster-catcher, greenshank, semipalmated sandpiper, and more.

Illustrated with fifty-one colour plates.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth binding, in the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, smart. Light bumping and fading to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. A few light marks to the boards. Dust wrapper is edge worn, with chips and closed tears, one tape repair to the reverse. Light age-toning, handling marks, and rubbing to the wraps. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean, with a few scattered spots.
