What Our Customers Say...

Description

First Edition, Folding Maps, Illustrated, Original Binding, Publishers' Original Binding

Two volumes of a six volume set. Volumes one and two only. First Australian edition. Only the first two books had separate Australian issues, for the remainder of the set Australian customers were offered British issues published by Thornton Butterworth. Volume one is illustrated with two plates and six maps, five of which are folding. Volume two is illustrated with one facsimile plate and seven maps, five of which are folding. Collated complete. An account of the First World War, The World Crisis is analytical and, in some parts, a justification by Churchill of his role in the war. Churchill denied it was a "history," describing the work as "a contribution to history of which note should be taken together with other accounts." Written by Sir Winston Leonard Spencer Churchill, a British statesman, military officer, and writer who twice served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. From the collection of Malcolm Stevenson Forbes Jr., an American publishing executive and politician who is the editor-in-chief of Forbes, a business magazine.

Condition

In the original full cloth binding. Externally, smart with light rubbing and minor bumping to the extremities. Minor fading to the spines with the odd small mark to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with minor age toning to the endpapers.
