Nine volumes of a twenty-six volume set, containing volumes II, VII, VIII, IX, X, XV, XVI, XX, and XXII only. Waverley edition, specially prepared for subscribers. With a frontispiece to volume II. The works of Robert Louis Stevenson, a Scottish novelist, essayist, poet and travel writer best known for works such as Treasure Island, Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, and A Child's Garden of Verses. Volume II, 1924, contains Treasure Island. Volume VII, 1924, contains The Merry Men & Other Tales, and Fables. Volume VIII, 1924, contains The Black Arrow: A Tale of the Two Roses. Volume IX, 1924, contains The Master of Ballantrae: A Winter's Tale. Volume X, 1925, contains The Wrong Box and The Ebb-Tide: A Trio and a Quartette. Volume XV, 1925, contains An Inland Voyage and Travels with a Donkey in the Cevennes. Volume XVI, 1925, contains The Amateur Emigrant, The Old & New Pacific Capitals, The Silverado Squatters, and The Silverado Diary. Volume XX, 1924, contains the Complete Poetical Works. Volume XXII, 1925, contains Viriginibus Puerisque and Lay Morals and Other Ethical Papers.

Condition

In the original blue cloth binding. Externally, smart with light rubbing and minor bumping to the extremities. Fading to the spine with the odd small mark to the boards. Small splits in the cloth to the head and tail of the spines resulting in light fraying. Front hinge starting but firm to volume XVI. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd small spot. Light age toning to the endpapers.
