The Harrap Library. With a portrait frontispiece. A collection of essays that first began appearing in The London Magazine in 1820 and continued to 1825. The essays became very popular, their personal and conversational tone charmed many readers. With titles such as: New Year's Eve, All Fools' Day, Witches and Other Night Fears, Distant Correspondents, and A Quaker's Meeting. Written by Charles Lamb, an English essayist, poet, and antiquarian.

Condition

In the original full calf with gilt. Externally, sound with rubbing and minor bumping to the extremities. Fading to the spine with cracks to the joints. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with light spotting and minor age toning to the endpapers.
