This volume chronicles the operations of his private press at Strawberry Hill between 1757 and 1789. The journal records the books printed, dates, editions, and collaborators, offering unique insight into one of the earliest and most influential private presses in England.
Horace Walpole (1717–1797), 4th Earl of Orford, was a writer, collector, and pioneering figure of the Gothic revival, best known for The Castle of Otranto and for his creation of Strawberry Hill House.

Bound in quarter paper vellum with grey paper covered boards. Externally, smart. Bookplate of Stoke Newington Public Library to front paste down. Slight offsetting to endpapers. Slight soiling to vellum paper, with the odd minor handling mark. Slight discolouration and rubbing to boards. Slight rubbing and bumping to extremities, with one or two slight chips to spine. Minor spot to perforation to rear board. The odd minor scratch to boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean, with slight age toning to fore edge and one or two very slight handling marks. Library stamp from Stoke Newington Public Library to final leaf.
