A charming set of first edition volumes, in half morocco bindings.

Present here are:

'The Outline of Literature', complete in two volumes, edited by John Drinkwater, an English poet and dramatist.

With thirteen colour plates to each volume, and numerous further illustrations. Collated, complete.

'The Outline of Art', edited by William Orpen, an Irish artist best known for his striking self portraits.

With twenty-six colour plates, and numerous further monochrome illustrations. Collated, complete.

Dated 1923-1924 via the British Library.

Condition

In half morocco bindings, with cloth covered boards, and gilt detailing to back strips. Light rubbing to back strip head and tail, with a touch of fading to back strips, as is common with morocco of this shade. Light fading to cloth of front board of Art vol. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright, with only the odd spot to first and last few leaves.
