Henry Irving was a famous actor of the Victorian era, who earned a reputation as an actor-manager as he took complete responsibility of productions, from the lighting, to set design, direction and casting in addition to acting. He performed the role of many Shakespearean characters over his career, and this assisted him in editing these works.
With introductions to each play by F A Marshall and other scholars.
This edition of Shakespeare's works are wonderfully presented, with comprehensive footnotes.
