First Edition, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding, Very Scarce

The first edition of this work. Two very scarce publications from John Bale, Sons & Danielsson, Ltd., rarely seen in commerce. ONly vols. 4-7 are catalogued on Jisc at the University of Cambridge Libraries, Natural History Museum Library, and Trinity College Dublin Library.

 
Vol. I from March 1922 to February 1923; Vol. II from March 1923 to February 1924. Edited by F H Shoosmith. 

Magazine dedicated to rural life and nature with articles concerned with studies of plants, animals, natural phenomenon, miscellaneous, and a section dedicated to 'A Nature Lover's Library' as well as poems, &c.

Illustrated with a coloured frontispiece to each volume, as well as twenty-two full page plates in colour and numerous further black and white illustrations in text.

Condition

In the original publisher's uniform full cloth bindings. Externally very smart with light bumping to head and tail of spine and extremities. Boards lightly faded. Internally, firmly bound. Odd light spotting to odd margin, pages otherwise generally very clean and bright throughout.
