In the original publisher's paper covers. A very rare early edition of this popular travel guide. A very unusual survival.
A very scarce example of Newman's Indian Bradshaw, a notable railway timetable and travel guide. Bradshaw's guides were first published in 1839 and are named after the founder George Bradshaw. The range expanded to railway timetables for Continental Europe, India, Australia and New Zealand as well as the middle-east.
The main timetable for the Indian Railways is still referred to as the 'Newman Indian Bradshaw' today.
Includes an 'Indian Bradshaw' order order form/postcard.
With many illustrated advertisements, providing a glimpse into the businesses operating during the early twentieth century.
Condition
In the publisher's original paper covers. Externally, spine and front joint re-enforced with archival tape, sunning, small closed tears and chipping to the covers. Internally firmly bound with age toning and only occasional light spotting. Occasional light creasing and chipping.
