First Edition

The first edition of this work in the publisher's original cloth binding, with pictorial gilt to the front board. Small bookplate to the rear paste down. This anthology of Hardy's poetry contains the works Weathers, Summer Schemes, Jezreel and A Woman's Fancy amongst other verses. This collection is more musical than Hardy's other work, often fondly recalling past memories in ballad format. It opens with an Apology in prose.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally bright and smart, with only a little light shelf wear to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright with the odd spot.
