The first edition of this scarce historical study, an association copy inscribed by Arthur Charles Wellesley, 4th Duke of Wellington to the front free endpaper, with 'Raglan from Wellington Oct 1922'.

Lord Arthur Wellesley was grand-son of the famous 1st Duke of Wellington, and inscribes this work to FitzRoy Somerset, 4th Baron Raglan, a British soldier, author, and amateur anthropologist.
 
Albert Lee's work presents a detailed regimental history from its formation through its major campaigns and services at home and abroad.

Illustrated with a colour frontispiece, fifteen plates, and four folding maps. Collated, complete.

With the bookplate 'Ex Libris Cefntilla' to the front pastedown.

The work recounts battles, movements, and notable officers, placing particular emphasis on the regiment’s association with the Duke of Wellington and its distinguished role in British military history.

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Boards bright. Fading to back strip, with shelf wear to back strip tail, and light spots of tide marks to back strip. Bookplate to front pastedown, with inscription to front free endpaper. Spotting to text block fore edge. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright.
